'Wise Owl' 2/11
This owl was carved from Lawson Cypress for a client's husband's birthday. He will eventually sit on their summerhouse, after he has had some protective finishing oil applied. When I sent them some images of the just-completed owl, the client commented that he looks very wise.

'Owl and Woodpecker' 10/09

A family in Bristol had a dead Robinia tree in their back garden. The tree had many nice memories for them so they had the lovely idea of turning it into a sculpture. After discussing ideas with them, they decided that they would like an owl and a woodpecker with some kind of pattern going up the trunk. I like the idea of the slightly indignant owl being woken up by the busy woodpecker.
